Photos! - Park Place Fort Worth Grand
Opening, Nov 1, 2005
The new Park Place Mercedes-Benz dealership invited our club to
participate in their grand opening celebrations. In addition to the launch
of the new R-Class and the display of an SLR McLaren, a special request
was made to us by our host, GM Joseph Turner, to show our vintage Mercedes
as part of their celebration. Our club complied with a lineup comprising a
1953 300S Roadster, three fifties 190SLs, a 1967 250SE Convertible, two
1971 280SL Pagodas and a 1989 560SL Roadster.
The entertainment, food and drink were excellent, the activities were organized well and our club was well-represented. A press release is posted online at: http://www.ntxe-news.com/artman/publish/article_29940.shtml and was submitted to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Fort Worth Business Press, Dallas Business Journal, Azle News, South Tarrant Star, Wedgwood Shopper News, Alliance Newspapers, River Oaks News, Suburban News, and Fort Worth, Texas magazine. Mercedes-Benz, welcome back to Fort Worth! A pictorial follows. Please enjoy. DJ de Jesus, MBCA, Fort Worth Section Getting inside an SLR is about the same as entering a 300SL Gullwing: you sit on the very wide door sill, swing your legs inside, use your legs for leverage, then swivel your rear end into position. Not a problem. |

A well-attended event with almost 500 guests. We saw many old friends
