VIDEOS! Acceleration Run, Texas Motorplex, Ennis, TX, July 31, 2009

Our club got together at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis for acceleration runs to assess the straight-line performance of our Mercedes-Benzes. The facility features a state-of-the art quarter-mile drag strip with real timing lights and computers. A time slip was received by the driver at the end of every run. The Texas Motorplex staff ran the event efficiently and professionally. After the quarter-mile with pedal to the metal, a long paved area allowed participants to gently slow down, then return to the parking and staging areas.

We ran against ourselves, other club members, or anyone else if they were willing. This event was just club members getting together and participating in a driving event hosted and run by Texas Motorplex (not the MBCA).  Despite the short notice, a great mix of member cars participated - AMGs of various types, stock sedans, 2 Corvettes, and a Porsche. Absolutely nothing can offer more thrills for 15 bucks than this event!
