St. Patrick's Bucolic Frolic, Dublin and Comanche, Saturday, March 17, 8:00am
We will have a full day of activity on St.
Patrick's Day. Fittingly, our first destination will be Dublin,
where we will visit the oldest Dr. Pepper bottling plant in the world.
We will tour the Dr. Pepper museum (they have a new 2000-foot addition
to the museum). After our Dublin visit,
we will make our way to Comanche. Lunch will be at Star Beau's
(choose your meal from the regular menu, separate checks, cash only, BYOB), just
across from Old Cora, the little log structure which served as county
courthouse when the city of Comanche was the county seat. After
lunch, we will do some wine-tasting at the beautiful Brennan Vineyards,
and have an opportunity to purchase some of their great wines. Our
final destination will be the Comanche County Historical Museum, which
features Native American and pioneer artifacts, plus exhibits depicting
life from the Wild West to the early 20th century, housed in a replica
of a frontier store.
Notes:
- We will proceed directly to Comanche if the
Dr. Pepper legal issues do not permit a tour of the old bottling plant.
- Star Beau's restaurant does not accept credit cards, so
please be prepared to pay cash for your lunch.

we will meet for a briefing at the Cracker Barrel at 8010 SW
Loop 820, Fort Worth
(I-20 and Winscott Road, west of Fort Worth), (817) 249-3360 (see map below).
We will depart immediately after the briefing.
Signup and Fees:
We will charge an event fee of
$10 per person for each MBCA member and their immediate family members. Non-members are welcome, and will be charged $15
each. The event fee will cover admission
to the Dr. Pepper museum, and the wine-tasting fee at the Brennan Vineyards. Pay for your own lunch
at Star Beau's, and don't forget to BYOB if you wish to enjoy your favorite
beverage with your meal. The Comanche County museum has no admission fee,
but please be prepared to give a donation to help offset the museum's operating
costs.
