We had a great group of fun-loving members from the Fort Worth and North Texas sections for this combination Q&A rally and poker run off the beaten path north of the Metroplex. Charles Boyd, Regional Director, South Central, also drove from Duncan, OK with his wife, Fran, to join us and to brief us on national MBCA initiatives. Section presidents Herbert Gabler and Andrea Hansen were present as well.

Twelve cars and teams participated, sixteen including Rally Committee members who wished to participate in the poker run. Committee members were disqualified from the Q&A, as they came up with the questions and answers.

We started at the Golden Corral restaurant in Grapevine Mills Mall for pre-rally meeting, traveled on mostly two-lane blacktop roads, visited the Texas Motor Speedway, drove through the Eagle Mountain Lake area, the Stockyards area and downtown Fort Worth, and finished by having a nice Mexican lunch at the Fort Worth Pappasito's on I-30 in west Fort Worth. We drew poker cards at designated stops along the way, and clues were provided for teams to answer the Q&A questionnaire en route.

Q&A Rally:
1st - Manfred Mueller and Sascha Becker - First Place Trophy plus $50 Park Place certificate, compliments of Jay Warner of Park Place Mid-Cities. 69 correct answers out of 78. Won total mileage tiebreaker with 81 miles traveled.
2nd - Richard and Vicki King - Second Place Trophy. 69 correct answers. 90 miles traveled.
3rd - Gene, Ruth and Jennifer Jurick - Third Place Trophy with 66 correct answers.

These results were darn close. The winners all worked very hard, very methodically and richly deserve their awards. Please congratulate them.

Poker Run:
Best Hand - Charles Boyd - Best Hand Trophy plus ADAC grille badge. Pair of aces.
Worst Hand - Sheldon and Holly Silk - Hard Luck Trophy. Let's just say they are lucky in love.

Note: Richard and Vicki King had the best poker hand. Rules state that the Q&A award prevails, so the best hand went to Charles and Fran Boyd.

Door Prizes:

Sheldon and Holly Silk - $20 certificate for car care products from Auto Vitality, somewhat offsetting their worst poker hand.
