ANNUAL DINNER, THEATRE EVENT & MEETING

Join the MBCA Minuteman Section
at the New College Theatre Hasty Pudding Theatricals' - “Fable Attraction”

Harvard University's famed Hasty Pudding Theatricals returns to the newly renovated and architecturally acclaimed New College Theatre (formerly the Hasty Pudding Theatre) and performs their 160 th annual presentation, “Fable Attraction” - this year's hysterical offering of comedy, song and dance as only Hasty Pudding Theatricals can pull off. Immediately following the show we will enjoy cocktails and an extraordinary dinner at the award winning Harvard Square restaurant, Grafton Street Pub & Grill . Limited underground parking is available across the street from the theatre, below the Holyoke Center Arcade.

COST: A super value at only $50.00 per person (thanks to a large contribution from the MBCA-MINUTEMAN SECTION). There is limited seating for 60 people only and reservations will be on a first-come first-served basis. Hurry, this event annually sells out quickly, so send in your reservations now! (Preference will be given to Club member and one guest). Theatre tickets and directions will be mailed out in late February, but please include an E-MAIL address for confirmation.

EUROPEAN AUTO SOLUTIONS (EAS)
TECH SESSION

EAS will hold a Tech Session at 9:00 am at their facility at 838 Moody St. Waltham, MA.

Club Members who wish to participate will be given 15 minutes of personal inspection time with their car up on a lift with a technician available to answer questions compliments of European Auto Solutions.

Also discussed will be Spring maintenance.

PRIVATE AUTOMOBILE AND AIRCRAFT COLLECTION

Visit the Collings Foundation
to view a truly unique collection
as guests of the Wachusett Old Car Club

The Wachusett Old Car Club (WOCC) would like to invite the members of the Minuteman Section to join them in a visit to the Collings Foundation May 10, 2008.

The cost is $5 per person at the door. The Collings Foundation has some of the most important pre-war American classic cars and historically significant race cars in the world.

All are housed at the Stow, MA facility in purpose-built buildings of over 70,000 square feet to complement the aircraft collection. Their website is: http://www.collingsfoundation.org/menu.htm

We will meet at the Stop & Shop parking lot at 9:30 AM in Hudson, MA and caravan to the location. The S&S is at the eastern end of Route 290 which is known as the Rt 85/290 connector. It is exit 25A off of Route 495. At the end of the ramp continue straight across the intersection into the Stop & Shop parking lot.

NORMAL ROCKWELL MUSEUM ROAD RALLYE

Visit the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts with Mercedes Benz Club Minuteman Section 

Norman Rockwell Museum houses the world's largest and most significant collection of original Rockwell art. Highlights include enduring favorites from Rockwell's Saturday Evening Post covers, the powerful Four Freedoms, and the nostalgic Stockbridge Main Street at Christmas.

We will also tour his studio.

We will caravan as a group out to the museum through the back roads of the Berkshires. Along the route you will have some challenges to keep you alert. The group in the car who gets the most challenges correct will receive a prize. We will be starting from the Framingham Plaza on the Massachusetts Turnpike which is on west bound side west of exit 13 (Route 30) at 8:45 a.m. Or if you would like to meet up with us further west at the west bound Charlton Plaza which is west of exit 10 (Routes 395,12, & 290) meet at 9:15 a.m. We will having a picnic in a bag at the museum. The bag includes a sandwich of your choice, pasta salad, bottled water and a Norman Rockwell's favorite oatmeal cookie.

CARS AND CONCERTS

The West Boylston Bicentennial Committee and The Wachusett Old Car Club invite the Mercedes-Benz Club to attend their cars and concerts series.

The series consists of three cruise nights in conjunction with the Concerts on the Common.  They will be held on June 29 with the local band “Rhythm”, July 20 with “Mulligan Stew”, and August 10 with the “Heritage String Band” at the junction of Routes 12 and 140 in West Boylston.

The cars will be judged in several categories including Best of Show, Best Interior, Best Paint and Best Engine.  There will be a 50/50 raffle with the proceeds going to the Bicentennial Parade and the Wachusett Old Car Club and to cover the cost of trophies.

Join in the fun and festivities amongst fellow car enthusiasts. A hot dog cart will be present to see to your nutritional needs.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the annual nautical cruise, we will depart on Sunday, August 10, 2008 from the quaint seafaring village of Mystic Connecticut. The schooner Argia will sail for 2½ hours in the calm and protected waters of the Mystic River and Fisher's Island Sound. Let the sound of the water and the scent of salt air take you away as we cruise among the numerous scenic islands and lighthouses.

After the cruise at 5:00 p.m., we will drive about a block to the Captain Daniel Packer Inne, renown in the Mystic area as the ultimate in quaint New England charm and exquisite food. For over 200 years, the Inne has served people from near and far in a comfortable, causal and relaxing atmosphere with a fireplace in every room. A cash bar will be available adjacent to the dining area.

The schooner leaves the wharf, located at 15 Holmes Street, Mystic, CT at 2:00 p.m . Should you choose to arrive early, you could tour the Mystic seaport with its historic nautical museum. If you arrive even earlier, Barbara and I would like to invite you to join us for Sunday brunch (off the menu) at 10:30 a.m. at Jamm's Restaurant, 8 Coogan Blvd., Mystic.

J. E. ROBISON SERVICE TECH SESSION

J. E. Robison Service invites you to join us for an exciting Mercedes-Benz tech session, Saturday August 23, 2008 from 9 am to 12:00 pm. We are offering you the opportunity to obtain a free diagnostic checkup on your vehicle and the opportunity to learn about your car's advanced safety equipment. A Bosch representative and our highly experienced and certified staff will be there to answer your questions.

This free event will be held at 347 Page Blvd, Springfield , MA 01104.

On Sunday September 7, the Minuteman Section of the Mercedes Benz Club of America and the Larz Anderson Auto Museum are pleased to present the 22nd annual Germanfest presented by Intercity Lines.

Registration will open at 8:00 a.m. and will cost $20, which includes entrance into the museum for 2 individuals. All registration will take place on the day of the event. Judging will begin at 11:00 a.m. with "rags down" announced at that time indicating the stop of all cleaning of cars. Cars wishing to enter the field but not to be judged may register for "display only"; registration fee applies. No car will be entered for judging after 11:00 a.m but can be entered as "display only".

Rules for judging in the street class and concourse class are according to Mercedes Benz Club of North America criteria, which focuses on cleanliness and authenticity of the vehicle.

The daily driver class has been replaced with a Survivor Class. The rules for this class are: Any model Mercedes Benz, in original unrestored condition 25 years of age or older. Must be driven to the event and not bear dealer or repair plates. Judged according to street class rules.

First, second and third place awards are given out in 11 classes and 4 trophies are awarded for the finest and most unusual cars entered. Description of Classes.

On October 10-12, the Minuteman Section of the Mercedes Benz Club of America is pleased to organize the 31st annual Farberallye to be held in Keene, NH presented by European Auto Solutions. Accommodations are at the Best Western in Keene NH.

The Keene area is home to Pumpkin Fest, Keene State College and Mount Monadnock, all of which give picturesque views and delightful and engaging roads to drive on.

The weekend events kick off Friday night with a cocktail hour. The rallye will begin on Saturday with a drivers meeting at 8:30 am. Following the rallye there will be a banquet, awards and entertainment. There is a $30 registration fee per car.

Room reservations should be made directly with the sales department at the Best Western (603) 357-3038. We have set up a package deal of $294.92 per couple which includes a two nights stay with breakfast each morning and Saturday evenings dinner.

Please complete and return your registration form with your dinner selection and check for $30 for entry in the rallye before September 10, 2008.
