Presented by M. Steinert & Sons of Natick

John Piekarczyk, President, Minuteman Section, presents a certificate of appreciation to Elizabeth Wallace and Steve Hauck of M. Steinert & Sons of Natick in appreciation of their support of the local chapter of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America.

Prior to the commencement of a private piano recital orchestrated by M. Steinert & Sons of Natick for Mercedes-Benz Club members, Elizabeth Wallace introduces a silent auction with proceeds to benefit a non-profit organization dedicated to helping underprivileged children obtain access to the musical arts. The auction included a number of items commemorating the Daimler Steinway"American Mercedes" connection including a replica model of the Steinway produced Daimler Riding Car.

Our talented pianists sit for a photo that will be submitted to the press. Sitting front, Leon Fran, middle (l-r) Derek Wang, Andrew Li, George Li, back (l-r) Benjamin & David Gertner, Victor Zhang.

Leon, a lovely boy with a bright smiling face, was excited to play a piece he had been practicing for more than a month. He arrived early and we spoke - he has been playing the piano for 1 year.

All cameras where focused on Steinway Hall capturing the performances of our talented young artists.

Andrew Li, a student of Dorothy Shi (who was in attendance) for 2 years, won first prize in the 6-7 year age group of the Bay State Piano Competition of the Massachusetts Music Teachers Association (MMTA).

He performed Butterflies, W. Ledge, and Haydn Sonata in D 1st Movement.

George Li here to watch his younger brother Andrew perform agreed to an unscheduled performance of Liszt La campanella.

The crowd sits enchanted by George's performance of Liszt La campanella.

"This young boy from Boston has already been a guest on prominent talk shows and featured in the television series From the Top at Carnegie Hall. His performance of a Moszkowski etude on the Martha Stewart Show can be seen on YouTube . To watch George on From the Top at Carnegie Hall, visit pbs.org . Part of the thrill of hearing him play in person is the certainty that one is present at the beginning stage of what will be a major career. "

Thirteen year old George Li, piano prodigy, will be performing with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Benjamin Zander on October 15th, 17th and 18th.

"When you see him walk out on stage, diminutive of stature and slight of frame, you might well wonder how he could make a piano heard above the sound of a full symphony orchestra. Nothing prepares you for the torrential sound that he unleashes from the instrument, without any apparent effort, nor for the uncanny maturity and subtlety of his playing Saint-Saëns enormously popular Second Piano Concerto".

George learned to read music before he learned the alphabet. At two he demonstrated an interest in piano and at the age of four he began lessons.
