Overview of the Concours d' Elegance at the 47th Annual June Jamboree

The underlying principal of a Concours d' Elegance is to judge the car working from the premise of show-room condition.

Walk through the field prior to the start of judging in order to get a feel for the competition. Do not pre-judge any vehicles at any time.
Decide among yourselves who in your team will be the leader, the observer and the scribe.
Commence judging on time and in a random fashion so different teams aren't working on the same car at one time.

Dress appropriately, don't wear any sharp objects, or have any loose objects which could fall from your person onto a car.
Be knowledgeable of the judging rules and criteria for deductions.

Enter on the score sheet the DEDUCTIONS in half point increments. Place the deduction in the correct column and put a word or two in the comment section so the entrant understands the issue. (You would like to know if it was your car)

Bear in mind the scope of your judging responsibilities, handle only the section of the score sheet you are assigned to. Do not alert another judging team about a possible flaw you noticed which is outside of your assignment.

When asked to judge a close friend's car or one which you're most familiar with, ask to become the scribe rather than the observer.
Don't return to a vehicle to change a score or to re-judge, especially to catch a deduction you may have missed
Don't hold little informal meetings within earshot of the entrant

When in doubt about authenticity, or any aspect of judging, consult with Andreas. Never ask another team to make a judgment for you. When in doubt, ask Andreas. And finally, do not judge your own vehicle or vehicles within your class.

The score sheet is divided into four sections.
