| • | January Event - Saturday, January 28, 2012- Another good time was had at the latest club event. This time we were guests at the new home of Mike and Lynn Gullick. About 20 members attended bringing along their contribution of a "pot luck" lunch in a variety of crock-pots. A selection of soups and stews that satisfied everyone's taste. The club also provided a variety of breads and crackers to complement the meal. And, let's not forget the desserts...delicious!!!! Mike and Lynn were outstanding hosts. Their home was beautiful and had an outside kitchen that was envied by everyone. The wonderful weather was the finishing touch to a great day. Thanks to all who participated and to Mike and Lynn for inviting us to their home. |

| • | February Event - Yeehaw and howdy partners....what a fun weekend we had at the Westgate River Ranch Resort. Approximately 24 members attended the event. Dave Hutchinson described the rooms correctly, "motel type rooms, very clean and neat. The activities began with a 45 minute hayride. It took us through the resort property and a local state preserve. The ride's narrator described the area and gave us a little history lesson. He also sang country tunes to entertain us. I have to tell you the hayride accommodated over 50 passengers. It was followed by a bar-b-Que of chicken, hot dogs, coleslaw, beans, corn on the cob and peach cobbler. The peach cobbler must have been really good because I saw many of our group getting seconds (including my wife). After dinner, we attended a very entertaining rodeo. It highlighted a theme of "Proud to be an American." It included competitions in bull riding, and barrel racing. The last rider in the barrel race was a 6 year old girl who posted a very respectful time and did not knock down any barrels. We also saw exhibitions that included trick riding, rope twirling and whip cracking. I am looking forward to seeing the pictures taken by the club's photographer (and president) Dave Hutchinson. Of course the evening was not complete until we all got together afterwards over adult beverages and snacks. Those members who do not attend our events are missing some really good fun! |

PAST EVENTS - Sunday, December 4, 2011 - Holiday Brunch - Countryside Country Club - - I thought the Holiday Luncheon was a huge success. The food was plentiful and good, the service staff was attentive and courteous. The room was spacious and allowed easy access to visit other tables and the location were adult beverages were being served. Once again I commend our club's leadership for putting together another fun event. I think the majority would agree that a good time was had by all. Debbie and I always enjoy the time we have with the many friends we have made within the club. We look forward to the slate of events for 2012.Click here for detail |
