Fort Worth's German Day

Fort Worth's German Day

Muenster & St. Jo
Texas

Thirty-two folks in 17 cars joined us for a country drive, a German lunch at Rohmer's Restaurant in Muenster, and a wine-tasting and winery tour at Blue Ostrich Vineyard and Winery in St. Jo.  At Rohmer's, most enjoyed German food like schnitzel and sausage while some had an American home-cooked meal.

After lunch, we had a scenic drive to St. Jo and visited the Blue Ostrich Winery, a charming venue nestled on the rolling hills and meadows unique to this part of Texas.  Here we enjoyed a tour-taste event, sampling wines while touring this beautiful facility. The winery is home to two ostriches, the remnants of a herd which once roamed this former ostrich farm.

The event ended after the winery tour, but some members returned to Muenster to shop at Fischer’s Meat Market for some German sausage, cheese and other goodies.
